Shopmobility Terms & Conditions

Brent Cross Shopmobility loans its equipment under the following terms and conditions: • The minimum age for the loan of motorised equipment is 16 years.

• The user will have received instruction on the safe use of the equipment and has a duty to return it at the end of the loan period in a good and serviceable order.

• The equipment must not be left unattended unless it is safe to do so. In the case of motorised scooters the keys must be removed.

• Mobility equipment must not be taken beyond the boundaries of Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

• The safety of everyone at Brent Cross is paramount and to this end equipment must be used correctly and special care must be taken to avoid injury or damage, particularly in crowded areas and shops.

• Motorised vehicles must not be used on roadways except for the purpose of crossing from one side to the other.

• Under no circumstances are users to carry other passengers, babies, children or animals.

• The user must not allow any other person to use the vehicle or equipment. Misuse or abuse will result in the loan being terminated. Any damage caused by misuse or wilful neglect must be paid for.

• Equipment will not be loaned to anyone apparently under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that impairs their ability to use the vehicle. This includes any instruction by a medical practitioner not to drive or use machinery.

• All accidents, incidents or faults resulting from the use of any Shopmobility equipment must be reported to Centre Management or a member of staff immediately.

• At the end of the loan period the equipment must be returned to Shopmobility in a good, clean and serviceable condition.

• At its discretion Brent Cross Centre Management reserves the right to deny the loan of any Shopmobility equipment.

• Users of equipment do so at their own risk. Brent Cross Shopmobility accepts no liability whatsoever for any loss or damage unless as a direct result from its failure to keep the equipment properly maintained.

• The user accepts it is their responsibility to inform Brent Cross Shopmobility immediately should they become aware of any change in their ability to safely operate loaned equipment, and agree where necessary to undertake further assessment or training in the use of that equipment.

• The user confirms their liability for any damage or injury caused during their use of loaned Shopmobility equipment whilst in their care and control.

• The user must not use wheelchairs or scooters on escalators and must only use the lifts.
